Let The Right One In

I just got back from the seeing Swedish vampire film, Let The Right One In at the Capri. This was one the creepiest, weirdest films I have ever seen but it was amazing at the same time. This is one of the very few horror films that actually scared me and disturbed me. The setting creates a very sad and claustrophobic feel.

A little lonely boy from a tiny Stockholm suburb befriends the new girl that just moved to his apartment complex. The girl is looked after by her single dad who attacks people at night, drains them of blood for his daughter. He blunders each kill forcing his daughter to kill so she can live. The boy finally finds out she's a vampire but he's so desperate for companionship that he doesn't care. She tries hard not to get too close to him as she is afraid that may have the urge to kill him.

'As delicate, haunting and poetic a film as you're ever bound to see. A chilling fairy tale.'—Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Devil's Backbone)

'IT’S A WINNER! The two leads are dynamite and director Alfredson knows how to pin you to your seat. SEE IT NOW BEFORE A HOLLYWOOD REMAKE RUINS IT.' —Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

'QUITE EASILY THE MOST COMPELLING NEW ENTRY IN VAMPIRE MYTHOS IN AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER.' —Todd Brown, Twitch.com

Two thumps for Rock N Rolla

Great, fun British gangster movie. Full of bumbling criminals, extortion, low-life crackheads, sarcasm and rock n roll. Ludacris and Jeremy Piven make a cameo. Ludacris was mediocre in Max Payne but he is great in this movie. The soundtrack was great and helped propel the movie along and went along with the scenes. The Clash, Lou Reed, The Sonics, The Scientists, War, etc. flow throughout the flick. The Subways perform "Rock & Roll Queen" in a club where a great and crazy scene takes place outside the club.
